Providence History and Highlights
Stroll the beautiful and historic East Side of Providence to learn about Roger Williams and the founding of the city of Providence and the colony of Rhode Island. The walk continues downcity to explore the modern city that Providence has become. The walk is roughly 1.5 miles long and takes about an hour and a half to two hours. Please be advised that there is a very steep hill on the East Side.

This walk through Providence's East Side neighborhood focuses on the early settlement of the area and Roger William's importance to Rhode Island. Great for kids around 10-12 years old. Walk is roughly 1.5-2 hours long, and does involve a fairly steep hill. Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
